The Deemed universities and minority institutions offering admission to MBBS and BDS programs in Karnataka have sought time over the state government’s request to provide a percentage of seats to be filled up through the state’s Common Entrance Test (CET).
The President on Tuesday signed the NEET ordinance, which partially overturns the Supreme Court order declaring the examination as the only gateway for medical and dental admissions across the country.
The Central government has approved the ordinance to exempt the states from National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) this year. Once the ordinance is issued the state board students will not have to appear in NEET phase 2 on July 24.
