One more chance to apply for Karnataka CET 2016

As per the requests given by students who have missed applying for the Karnataka CET 2016 (Common Entrance Test) for admissions to undergraduate courses, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has given them an opportunity to submit online applications from March 16 to 18 on the KEA website.

Karnataka CET to go online from 2017

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has not permitted the Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) candidates to apply for Karnataka CET 2016. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given permission to the OCI candidates for the JEE Main entrance test, but in Karnataka, the candidates have no hope of appearing for the State’s Common Entrance Test (CET).

The recent Supreme Court order to RETEST the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) 2015 will also lead to a delay in the counseling of medical aspirants who qualified the Common Entrance Test and Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK).

KEA adds dental engineering architecture seats to CET matrix

The decision by the KEA was made public earlier this week on Tuesday and according to reports, addition of new seats has been made in the streams of engineering (1,212), dental (133) and architecture (51). However, a press note from KEA confirmed that none were added to the medical stream.

COMED-K dental students reprieved following High Court order

The HC delivered the judgment while hearing a number of petitions filed by BDS students. Justice Anand Byrareddy, the honorable judge in the one-man bench, observed that usually entrance tests are for determining seat allotment when the number of applicants exceeds the total available seats.

“As per the new norms of the notification, “The information/particulars furnished by the candidates in their CET-2014 application form is final. The information furnished in the application form with regard to caste/category and annual income remains the same for the purpose of assignment of ranks/allotment of a seat, and no change will be entertained in future for any reason.”
