The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has notified that the results of the JEE Main 2016 will be announced on April 27, 2016. To check JEE Main 2016 results, candidates have to log on to the official website of the JEE Main.
The Union HRD Ministry announced that the aspirants for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for premier engineering institutes from 2017 onwards will be required to score 75 percent marks in their Class 12 board exams. Moreover, class 12 marks will not be a factor for determining rankings in the JEE for admissions to engineering UG courses from 2017 onwards.
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country will, in all probability, open their doors to foreign students for their UG and PG courses through a common entrance test conducted in several countries from the next academic year 2017. A final decision is likely to be taken in the next IIT Council meeting.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by the HRD Ministry with three private industry players for setting up of the three news IIITs. Three new Indian Institute of Information Technology’s (IIITs) would start operating from the academic year 2016. Two panels appointed by the Union Human Resource Development Ministry and JEE Apex Board have forwarded various arguments to recommend that the NITs should scrap the 40 percent weight age of the board. 31 National Institutes of technology (NITs) are in favour of dropping the weightage of board and admit the students on the basis of merit in JEE advanced. The government is yet to take a final decision on the issue.

From 2016, Maharashtra will consifer MH CET for engineering admissions instead of JEE Main scores. Class 12 marks of the candidates will also be considered along with the MH-CET scores.
