The Central Government has decided to raise maximum age limit from 54 years to 56 years for promotion/induction from State Service/Non-State Civil Service to All India Service with effect from the Select List of 2015 with crucial date of determination of age as 01.01.2015.

UPSC announces admit cards for Civil Services Preliminary exam

As per Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public grievances and Pensions, “Government will decide on the issue within another 2-3 days,” reported NDTV. Singh, as per earlier reports, was in favor of postponing the preliminary exam in light of the demands of the students.

UPSC Civil Services Mains 2013 Mark sheets now available

A total number of 7, 76,565 candidates applied for the exam and 3, 23,949 appeared for the preliminary round. A total number of 14,959 candidates qualified for the main exam that was held on December last year. 3,003 candidates were finally shortlisted for the personality test based on their performance in the mains. Out of the top 25 candidates, 15 are male and the rest are female.

UPSC grants two more additional attempts for Civil Services aspirants

A candidate will be permitted a maximum of four attempts for the examination. However, there is no restriction on number of attempts by a candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs). Seven attempts are permissible to an aspirant belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
