The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE 2014 scorecards has been sent off to the addresses mentioned by the candidate at the time of application for the examination. Students need to keep in mind that no additional scorecard for the examination will be issued. The card can be tracked by the students for progress by just logging to the official website and entering the enrollment id and password.
There has also been a decrease in the number of female candidates this year. Primarily, because of the fact that last year the application fees had been waived off in 2013, whereas, this year an amount of Rs 750/- had to paid. Only a staggering amount of 31, 431 female candidates (from all categories) have qualified this year.
GATE is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India for admission to Master’s degree programmes in Engineering/Technology/Architecture as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science.
