The Health Ministry will hold the NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) for admission to PG medical courses in November this year. As per the sources, the Ministry is also considering postponing entrance exams for admission to UG medical courses — the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) — scheduled for May 1, by two months. The move comes a day after the Supreme Court allowed NEET for admission to medical courses. The modalities are being worked out for entrance exams for admission to UG courses.
The Union Health Ministry has cleared Indian Medical Council’s (IMC) proposal to amend Indian Medical Council (IMC) Act to hold a nationwide common medical entrance test.The common entrance test will be applicable for both UG and PG medical courses in all colleges, including the private medical colleges, across the country.
