CAT 2014 Convenor Dr Rohit Kapoor told TOI that 16 people including a girl had scored 100 percentile this year. “While we are still to confirm how many of those who scored 100 percentile are from IITs, atleast 3-4 must be from these institutes.”
CAT 2014 results out. Out of approx 1.75 lakh CAT 2014 takers, 16 students have scored 100 percentile while several candidates scored 99.99 percentile in the CAT 2014 exam. Candidates can check results on CAT 2014 official website.
CAT 2014 results to be declared on December 27, 2014 (Saturday) in the evening on the official website of CAT 2014. CAT act as gateway to Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).
There is a forecast that this also might result in the rise of cut off of the top business schools in the country because of the increase in the number of questions per section. This increase is said to make it easier for the students as it is going to decrease the difficulty level and allowing them to score better.
IIM-Ranchi, IIM-Raipur and IIM-Rohtak admitted as many as 120 students in their maiden batches in 2010. The trend was followed by IIM-Trichy and IIM-Udaipur as they admitted 100 management aspirants in their maiden batches. Starting from 2015, a minimum of 500 additional students will be allotted seats in the six new IIMs.
Data collected till August 6, 2014 shows that a total of 89 non-IIM institutes currently accept CAT scores. The figure is a stiff decline from last year’s 125. In 2012, over 150 non-IIM institutes in total were accepting CAT scores.
As per the confirmations from the coaching institutes and management school experts, the new rule will lessen the difficulty level of the questions. This in turn, might shoot up the minimum percentile criteria required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) and other key schools.
The registration for CAT 2014 is to remain open for 56 day; from August 6, 2014 to September 30, 2014. The students will be able to download their admit card from October 16 onwards till the day of the examination.
