Students can now question their JEE Main results

To make the highly competitive examination transparent and free from any potential controversy, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Unit has decided to allow candidates a chance to challenge their scanned OMR answer sheets in the event any discrepancy is noticed or suspected. The JEE Main results can now be questioned at a price of Rs. 1000/per question.

The scanned OMR sheets will be made available online this week from May 13 to 17. The JEE Main which serves as the gateway to a number of premium technical institutions across the country, is administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Board has made it clear that those who appeared in the “pen-paper” based test for paper-II, will have the chance to view their OMR answer sheet and challenge it upon noticing any irregularity.

The candidates can lodge their complaints through the link mentioned in the Website. The JEE Main authority has made it clear that no offline request will be entertained. The last date for submitting complaints is May 17, 2014 (14:00 hours).

According to sources, the move has been made in order to make sure that a flawless evaluation of answer sheets takes place.  However, the only drawback the new review system suffers from is that the candidate will require spilling out INR 1000/ per question for each complaint made. In case the candidate’s challenge can’t be established by the board, the he or she will be entitled to forfeit the entire amount. If the candidate’s complaint stands correct, then the amount deposited will be refunded.

Candidates can access the answer keys of JEE Main Paper II online from May 20 (10:00 Hrs) to May 21 (17:00 Hrs).
