The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked JEE Main aspirants across the country to register their preferred date for appearing in the computer based test by January 17, 2014.
Candidates can select their preferred date and slot by logging into the JEE Mains official portal using their JEE Main 2014 application number and password. The exam dates available for the computer based test include: April 9, April 11, April 12 and April 19. Candidates will be required selecting two time slots as the exam shall be held in two different shifts – from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm.
According to the Board, candidates who have opted for the computer based exam but do not specify their preferred date and slot, the same will be selected randomly on their behalf (based on availability).
The allotted and date and time slot for all candidates will be mentioned on their admit card which will be made available from March 1. The admit cards won’t be sent via mail; however, the JEE Main 2014 computer based exam question paper will be sent to the candidates following the completion of the exam.
Even though more than 13.50 lakhs candidates from all over the nation have already registered for the JEE Mains 2014, it’s estimated that roughly 1.7 lakh amongst them opted for the computer based test – a significant reduction from last year’s 1.74 lakh.
In a related development, the JEE (Main) Controller has issued a notification that some of the JEE (Main) 2014 candidates are yet to upload proper images of their photograph, thumb impression and signature. The controller has already started notifying these candidates personally via their registered mobile number and email ID. On receiving such a notification, the candidate would be required to log into the JEE (Main) website and upload the images correctly as per instructions provided.
Also, the office of the Executive Director, JEE, has observed that the date of the computer based examination clash with the Board exam dates of some candidates. Such candidates are strongly recommended to send a copy of their Class 12 admit card to the email ID: firstname.lastname@example.org. by March 15, 2014.
