Our education system lacks Interpersonal communication, said Vineet Joshi

CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi said the most important aspect which is lacking in the education system is interpersonal communication that means a deeper understanding of the problems faced by a child or teacher and the ability to address the same within the school system.

CBSE is currently engaged in implementation of several futuristic initiatives such as Continuous Comprehensive Education (CCE), the Open Text System, Social Empowerment through Work & Action (SEWA) and Problem Solving Assessment (PSA), he said.

Further he said that some significant changes had taken place in the mode of learning of children, the methodologies adopted in schools did not reflect the global changes taking place in the teaching-learning process.

However, he emphasised that this reform was not to be looked at as a comparison of performance of students in the past versus the present system.
