The National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NITK) has been handed over the responsibility of coordinating institute for Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) 2014-15.
Meanwhile, the admission process for persons of Indian origins, foreign nationals, non-resident Indians under the DASA scheme for undergraduate programs (2014-15 session) in architecture and engineering has been already launched.
The admission scheme will cover the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture, alongside a number of other premier technical education institutes in India.
It’s worth mentioning that NITK, Surathkal has been tasked with coordinating admission under the DASA scheme for the fifth consecutive year now. The total number of seats in all 45 institutes partaking in DASA 2014-15 scheme (for B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Plan programs) stand at 2345.
Students who secured 60 per cent or more (or 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point scale) in the senior secondary (10+2) or equivalent with Physics and Maths alongside any one following subjects are eligible to apply: Biology, Bio-technology, Chemistry, and Computer Science. In addition, the ideal candidate must also have a valid SAT subject score of 1440 or more in Physics, Chemistry, Maths.
Applications must be submitted before May 26, 2014.
