The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a public notice regarding NEET 2017 for the candidates belonging to states of J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Some candidates from J&K have submitted the self-declaration for NEET 2017 by mistake that they are not eligible for MBBS and BDS seats in their state.
CBSE stated in the notice that candidates of J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are not eligible for the 15% All India quota seats. Such candidates fall into two categories.
First, the candidates who are the residents of these states are not required to submit the self-declaration and they are eligible for 100% seats in their states. Some candidates have submitted the self-declaration by mistake. CBSE states that still, these candidates will be eligible for seats in their states, subject to the applicable rules of their state.
Second, the candidates who are not residents of J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but are living there because of the posting of their parents are not eligible for seats in these states. Such candidates are required to submit the self-declaration. CBSE has advised the candidates to adhere the following rules while filling the NEET 2017 application:
Candidates who have wrongly submitted the undertaking will register the counseling in their state when the registrations are started by the state counseling authority. All the state counseling authorities will announce the registration and verify the eligibility of candidates for the seats under their jurisdiction.
