UPSC NDA NA 1 Exam 2018 review by experts


NDA NA Exam 1 2018 has been successfully conducted by UPSC across various centres in the country. The examination was conducted for admission to the 141 course in National Defence Academy and 103 courses at Naval Academy. A total of 415 candidates (360 for NDA and 55 for NA) would be shortlisted by means of the examination.

The experts have made an analysis regarding the exam held. Experts who have gone through the questions shared by students have analyzed the paper and suggest that the Mathematics section was tougher than previous years. In the General Ability Test or Paper 2, the English section was relatively easy.

Here is the complete analysis and expected cut off for UPSC NDA NA Exam I 2018 as shared by experts. The examination for UPSC NDA/NA consisted of two parts. Part I was a Mathematics section which was of a total 300 marks and contained 120 questions. As compared to last year, experts feel that the mathematics section was tougher, especially some sections from trigonometry. Many students found questions from probability confusing. Overall, the experts feel that the cut off for mathematics section is bound to see a dip this year as compared to last year.

As for the General Ability Test or GAT which is section 2, experts felt that the physics and chemistry questions were again limited – much like last year’s pattern. Students found the GAT paper easier in comparison to the maths examination. As for the cutoff, experts feel that the expected cut off for GAT is bound to increase from last year.

The English section, according to experts was the easiest. There were about 30 questions from Physics and Chemistry and another 20 from current affairs. The overall level of questions in these sections was from moderate to difficult.

Those who qualify the written examination would be called in for an interview by the SSB. The courses are scheduled to begin from January 2, 2018.
