MBBS Admission – UGC asks deemed universities to admit students from NEET merit list

All deemed universities that offer MBBS and BDS programs have been asked to admit students from the merit list of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET).

UGC sent the notification to all concerned institutions on Thursday, adding that the deemed universities will also require participating in the common counselling conducted by the central government or respective state governments.

In the event a state government can not conduct the common counselling, or a deemed university wasn’t included in the common counseling, they will require putting up a common admission procedure.

“All institutions deemed to be universities (deemed universities) shall be part of the common counselling  for admission in medical courses organised either by the state government or Central government or through its agencies based on the marks obtained in NEET,” read the UGC circular.
