The Maharashtra government will continue with its MHT CET 2016 examination that is scheduled to be held on May 5.
The Maharashtra State education minister Vinod Tawde announced this in the Legislative Council today. He was clarifying the stand of the government in the backdrop of the Supreme Court decision on National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
Since, the preparations for the MHT CET 2016 are already being made and, thus, the government has decided to conduct the exams according to the declared schedule.
In his statement to the media, Minister Tawde said his request to the review committee would be to hold NEET from next year and let the state governments continue with their Common Entrance Tests (CETs) for this year.
