NEWS FLASH !! – UGC wants CBSE to continue with UGC-NET CTET twice a year >> See LATEST NEWS !
Sensing less participation from candidates in the bi-annual National Eligibility Test (NET), the government is thinking on holding it once a year. Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar is in favour of the exam being an annual process.
University Grants Commission (UGC) did recently confirmed that the July edition of NET will be conducted this year and a notification in this regard will be out soon. NET is currently conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is responsible for holding many other competitive examinations also, therefore being overburdened by other exams and if the participation is less; logically conducting it once a year would be alright.
On behalf of UGC, the Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the National Eligibility Test (NET) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and in Colleges. CBSE will conduct NET in 84 subjects at 90 selected NET Examination Cities spread across the country.
