The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is planning on developing and releasing an app that will help students looking for admissions in professional courses by addressing the common concerns faced by the students during the admission process.
The Android app will be launched later this year. According to the officials, students will have to register on the app. Once it is done, students will be able to see the seat matrix of different courses in different colleges, fill in their options, make the payment, etc.
Students are excited about the app. They hope that KEA is able to address all the technical glitch. Arun S., a student who plans on writing the exam this year said that it is a good move. However, officials need to make sure that there are no problems. There should be mock counseling rounds for the online process.

The app will contain a feature which will help the students verify their documents online. Up till last year, even though all the other processes were online, students had to visit KEA centers to manually get their documents verified. Since the Education Department was not digitized, all the attempts at making the document verification online were unsuccessful. If the online verification through the app is successful, the long waiting period at the KEA centers will end.
According to a senior official, after recent feedbacks from students and teachers, they are going digital and tech-savvy. He added that a demonstration will be provided to all the students. A help desk will be set up for the students of rural areas. Although, they are planning to make the online verification available as an option.
