The allegations have been charged against the JIPMER for the delay in MBBS admissions. However, the JIMPER Director had rebutted these charges and clarified on all issues pertaining to the MBBS examination and other matters including conduct of entrance exam in two sessions (morning and afternoon).
The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) is a medical school in India as an institute of national importance, JIPMER is not affiliated to any university and it awards its own degrees earlier, the institute was affiliated to Pondicherry University It offers a number of medical and paramedical courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Admission to the courses is made on all-India basis and strictly on the basis of merit through entrance examinations.
According to JIPMER, the process of MBBS admissions had begun with the counselling for candidates belonging to various categories as defined in the Jipmer Act 2008. The category-wise counselling was held between June 20 and 22. The results of the first round of counselling were published on Thursday in the official website of Jipmer. The counselling for OPH candidates is scheduled on June 27 and 28. Selected candidates will be given admission orders on June 29.
