Jamia Milia University is likely to drop its engineering entrance exam and will be admitting the students on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination. The JEE Main conducted by CBSE is used for admission to engineering courses in the NIT’s and IIT’s.
The students seeking admission to IIT’s will need to clear the JEE Advanced examination. The Vice Chancellor of Jamia Milia, Mr. Talat Ahmad told the reporters that Jamia University will admit the students through the JEE exam from the next academic session. He also added that it will improve the recognition of courses offered by Jamia Milia University.
About the varsity’s plan to open a medical college, he said that they are waiting for the land dispute to be settled. The Supreme Court had disapproved of the haste by Delhi government for acquiring the disputed land in south Delhi for the University’s medical college.
