IIT Kharagpur has announced GATE 2014 results. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering examination result for 2014 are now available on their official website. Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur had announced the results by 9:30AM, half an hour before the expected time. The GATE examination had been conducted during forenoon and afternoon on alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday) between February 01, 2014 and March 02, 2014.
A total of 10,33,625 aspirants had registered for GATE-2014 examination out of which 86.02 per cent appeared, which means a total of 8,89,156 candidates appeared for the examination. On the basis of the qualified marks only 16.84 per cent will be receiving the scorecards for GATE 2014, which means 49,694 students. This year was the first for the GATE examination to be conducted through an online mode for all 22 papers.
GATE is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India for admission to Master’s degree programmes in Engineering/Technology/Architecture as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science.
