The Joint Entrance Examination IIT JEE board will discard 60-40 weightage formula for admissions. In order to secure a seat now , candidates will now need to secure 75% in class 12 or they would need to secure rank among the top 20 percentile students in their respective board exams.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common engineering entrance examination of objective pattern which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses all over the country. It is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging engineering admission tests.

The Joint Entrance Examination Apex Board (JAB) have given permission to the 31 National Institutes of Technology , Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, IIITs and Government Technology Institutes to discard the existing  weightage of 60-40 formula for admissions.
