IIT Indore student bags INR 1.7 crore package from Google

Tech giant Google has reportedly offered a lucrative salary package of INR 1.7 crore to a 21 year old IIT Indore student. This happens to be the highest annual salary package offered by the Mountain View, California-based company during this year’s campus placement.
Gaurav Agarwal, the student who was offered this lucrative package, has already accepted the job, a spokesman from the IIT-Indore confirmed. Agarwal, who belongs to a middle class family in Bhilai, Chattisgarh, is delighted to have received the offer.

Agarwal confirmed that he will join Google at its California headquarters as soon as his session with IIT-Indore ends in May, 2015. However, he is yet to receive a specific joining date from the Internet giant.

According to reports, Agarwal appeared in an online test at IIT-Indore to get employed with Google. He passed the test and was subsequently called for an interview at Google’s office at Gurgaon which he also cleared.

IIT-Indore made its debut in India’s academia in 2009, and soon established itself as a leading institute for technical education in the country.
