Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A), the top business management institute has announced to hike their fees for its flagship courses from the next academic session of 2015-17.
Various programmes like Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), PGP-Agri Business Management (PGP-ABM) and PGP for Executive (PGPX) will see a steep rise in the fee structure, which could range from Rs. 1.9 lakh to Rs. 2.5 lakh.
Presently the course fee for PGP and PGP-ABM is Rs. 16.6 lakh which would increase to Rs. 18.5 lakh after the hike. PGPX course fee at the moment Rs. 21.5lakh would increase upto Rs. 24 lakh. Among all IIMs, IIM-A is the first one to hike the fee, which is done after the period of two years.
Not only the fees but IIM-A is all ready to bring some changes in the existing programmes, admission rules, innovation/creativity in ideas for academic studies. The authority is also planning to rename the current PGP-ABM (Agri Business Management) programme to PGP-FABM (Food and Agri Business Management), as per the recommendations.
Restructuring of programs and hike in the fee is required to for the IIM-A to remain financially self-sufficient as it emphasize on the commitment to providing generous financial aid which ensures that deserving students are able to join IIM-A irrespective of their financial means, excerpted the Director of IIM-A.
