Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2016) application starts today (September 1) and will end on October 1 this year.
As you may be aware that Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests a comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and technology is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India
The GATE score of a candidate reflects a relative performance level in a particular paper in the exam across several years.
Other than admission to MTech Programs in IITs, NITs and other Top Institues, GATE Scores are also used for Engineer Trainee/Executive Trainee jobs in PSUc. In the past, many PSUS like NTPC, Indian Oil, HPCL, ONGC, Oil India , BHEL and many others have carried out their recruitments through GATE 2016 scores.
