Free online lectures by IITs professors for Non-engineering students also

Along with the Engineering students, Non-engineering students have also got the golden chance to avail the lectures from professors of IITs. Students can now listen to the lectures by professors from IIT-Kanpur and IIT-Madras online for free. The initiative has been started by Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry.

Seven professors from IIT-Kanpur and Five professors from IIT-Madras under the ‘Massive Open Online Course’ (MOOC) will be conducting the online lectures for 18 courses.

“Professors from IIT-K and IIT-M have recorded their lectures and have made 18 courses available online for non-IIT students. The students who have dreamt of studying by IIT professors, these courses are of tremendous value for them, says, Professor Vimal Kumar of IIT-Kanpur, who is also the director of these online courses.

Aspiring candidates can register for the online courses by January 16, 2015 on National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) official website www.nptel.ac.in.

National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning is a joint initiative of the IITs and IISc which online courses and certification in various topics.

The courses will continue till February 28, 2015.
