Facebook makes Rs 2 crore pre-placement offer to IIT-Bombay girl

An IIT-Bombay student has reportedly received a lucrative INR 2 crore pre-placement offer from social media giant Facebook.

Aastha Agarwal (20), the girl who claims to have received the offer is currently pursuing fourth year of B.Tech in computer science from the prestigious institute. According to reports, she was doing her third-year internship in the company’s headquarters earlier this year when the offer was made to her.

“I am very happy and excited with the offer and will join in the Headquarters after completing my 8th semester,” Aastha, who is currently with her family in Jaipur, said.

Aastha stated that company bosses were satisfied with her performance as an intern and hence, made the offer. She also said that she is likely to join Facebook from October, 2015.

Aastha’s father is an executive engineer, currently working with Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPNL). Her sister is a chemical engineer.

Aastha had secured seventh-rank in the NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) in school and also bagged medal in International Junior Science Olympiad. She represented India at the Junior Science International Olympiad in 2009.
