DTE warns students to be aware of Fake universities

As the entrance exams and admission season is around the corner in Maharashtra, the Directorate of Technical Education has released a notice for students seeking admissions to professional courses to be aware of the fake universities and unrecognized institutes.

Earlier some students took admission in unrecognized colleges and sought relief from DTE later. The notice on the website of DTE says that students and parents are solely responsible for the verification of affiliation of the institute and validity of the degree.

The notice states that the students applying for engineering, pharmacy, architecture, hotel management and other professional courses should first verify the that the institute or college in which they are seeking admission is recognized by DTE Maharashtra or not. For this, students can check the list of approved courses and institutes at the official website of DTE www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in. Students can also call on the helpline numbers of DTE if they are unable to check the list on the website.

This is not the first time that DTE has issued such a notice. In the last three years, DTE had issued such notices to make the students aware of fake institutes and universities just prior to the beginning of the admission season. At present, many entrance examination registrations have been announced. It is better to warn the students right at the time of entrance exams and admissions.
