Delhi University entrance test may replace cut off system for admissions

Delhi University is planning to introduce an entrance test that may replace the cut-off system for undergraduate admissions from the year 2017-18. The test would comprise of objective type questions for 80 marks. 20 marks would be for assessment of CBSE marks of the subject in which the candidate appears for the test.

UNIVERSITY OF DELHI MAY INTRODUCE ENTRANCE TEST FOR ADMISSIONS

Every year only the students who secured very high marks in class 12th got admission in prestigious colleges affiliated to Delhi University. Last year the cut off for B.Com Hons course in Ramzas College went up to 99.25 percent. The introduction of entrance test will provide an equal opportunity to all candidates for admission to reputed colleges of Delhi University.

On the other hand, the introduction of entrance test may also create some problems for DU admissions. Candidates may not apply for multiple courses as the dates for entrance test for different courses may clash and candidates may not be able to apply for some courses.
