CSIR UGC NET Test 2014 is scheduled for December 21, 2014. Test will be conducted in two sessions- morning (9.00 am to 12.00pm) and afternoon (2.00 pm to 5.00 pm).
Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) will hold the Joint CSIR-UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) NET and Lectureship (NET) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science and Technology.
The final result of Joint CSIR UGC NET test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship, National Eligibility Test (NET) will be declared by CSIR in the month of March/April, 2015 and fellowship to successful candidates will be effective from April 01, 2015 with the validity period of 2 years for joining the fellowship under CSIR Scheme.
A candidate may apply either for ‘JRF + Lectureship’ both or for ‘Lectureship (LS) only’. CSIR may consider candidates applying for ‘JRF + LS’ for ‘Lectureship only’ depending on number of fellowships available and performance in the test subject to the condition that they fulfill the laid down eligibility criterion. If a candidate is found to be over-age for JRF (NET) he/she will automatically be considered for Lectureship (NET) only.

Joint CSIR-UGC Test is conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Human Resource Development Group for determining the eligibility of Indian National candidates for the award Junior Research Fellowship and for appointment of Lecturers.
