CAT is organized and conducted on a rotation basis each year. The previous two iterations of the exam were administered by the IIM-Indore. The notifications for CAT 2015 are expected to be released sometime during July-August 2015.
It is widely anticipated that CAT 2015 will be much tougher this year despite retaining the same pattern as last year. This year, TCS will replace Prometric as the associate test agency of CAT 2015.
According to available data, of the 1.97 lakh candidates who registered for CAT 2014, 1.68 lakh appeared in the exam. The last year’s iteration of CAT saw major changes being introduced including an increase in the total time allotted. Another key change was an increase in the number of questions in the quantitative ability and data interpretation sections as well as verbal ability and logical reasoning sections from 30 to 50 questions each section.
