AICTE conducts CMAT twice a year for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission to all management programmes approved by AICTE. The All India Council of Technical Education has issued a notification stating that the September CMAT stands cancelled.
The notification issued on Friday states that henceforth CMAT would be conducted once in a year, in January. The last-minute decision would affect nearly 1 lakh MBA aspirants across India were looking forward to appear in the exam which gives admissions to leading B-schools.
An overwhelming proportion of B-Schools in India accept Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) scores for admission to their management programs.
But unfortunately, not all students who appeared in the test will be granted admission to a B-School. Each year, all top B-Schools come up with their own cut-off marks for deciding the fate of students waiting for admission.
