CBSE will not conduct entrance exams anymore

No more entrance to be conducted by CBSE

The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Arun Jaitley proposed in the Parliament while presenting the Union Budget to establish a National Testing Agency for conducting all the entrance exams for higher education.
This would free the CBSE, AICTE and other institutions from entrance exams and administrative responsibilities so that they can focus on the academics more effectively.
The government also proposed to launch SWAYAM an online platform with over 350 courses to leverage information technology. This will help the students to virtually attend the online courses taught by best faculty, access high-quality study material, participate in discussion forums and take tests.
The access to SWAYAM platform would be increased by tie-ups with Direct to Home channels dedicated to education.
