CBSE tells schools to be wary of internet bullying

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed the affiliated schools not to allow access to game sites and mobile apps like the Blue Whale.

The CBSE feels that such games will affect the mental growth of the school going children. The school officials have been told that the children must be allowed to access only age appropriate pre selected websites. The board has told the school officials to deploy ‘digital surveillance system’ on their campuses. This can prevent students from accessing harmful websites and mobile apps.

The board also conveyed the harmful effects of children being allowed internet access without safety and the awareness of cyber bullying and safety rules for internet access.
