CBSE reward scheme for 12th passouts from Govt. Schools


The Central Board of Secondary Education has come out with a reward scheme “CBSE reward Scheme for meritorious students” ¬†for those students who have studied in government schools from class 9th to 12th and have passed the class 12th examination from the year 2013 onwards. The scheme has been introduced in the states/UTs of Delhi, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The eligibility criteria for the reward is:
1) The student must be an Indian citizen;
2) He/she should have studied from class 9th to 12th in government schools, affiliated to CBSE
3) The student should have stood in the merit of eligible students in class 12th examination.
A cash reward of Rs.1 lakh will be given to each student under this reward scheme. The payment of the reward amount will be credited directly to the bank account of the student. The rewards shall be given in the order of merit in class 12th in each stream with equal distribution of 25 percent in each stream.
A relaxation of 5% below the cut-off mark will be given to the SC/ST candidates and relaxation of further 5% below the cut off of the SC/ST category will be given to the physically challenged students. The candidates will be selected on the basis of stream/ category wise merit list that will be published on the CBSE website and leading newspapers.
