The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the UGC NET (December) 2015 exam on December 27, 2015(Sunday).
The UGC NET examination was held in 88 cities and 1344 examination centres across the country under the supervision of senior officers of CBSE.
A total no. of 7, 65,031 candidates had registered for the examination which consists of three papers.
The exam was conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and colleges.
The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for award of JRF.
