CBSE CCE good or Bad, Hate it or Like it, Kya ?

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had  introduced grading system and the board has  started continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) system from October, under which students would not only be graded in five subjects but they would also be assessed keeping their holistic development in mind.
CCE, or Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation as the new system is called, is a pet hate word ofmany students in Class IX and Class X. These Students hate CCE for the “shackles” it has put around him – daily studies, endless projects, surprise tests and, what is worse , they can’t talk and joke loudly with friends any more.
Then there are the bright children who are unhappy with the grading system. “Now there is no difference between a student who gets 100 and 91, both get an A1. What’s the use of killing ourselves studying to become top scorers?” feels a  Class 9 student of a public school who has always been topping her class till now.

Under CCE, each term will have two Formative Assessments, which includes grading on the projects, the surprise tests, behaviour of the child, extra-curricular activities and the school unit test – based on 50 marks, and a Summative Assessment or a term examination – based on 50 marks.

However there are many who are happy with the CCE system, one mother says “The CCE has some good effects too. My son is an average student, but since the CCE takes other factors into consideration, he has got A2s in his report card, which feels so great.” reports TOI

Well, I think the new CCE system is good for the students … as earlier students were in a RAT Race ….. Whoever had come first…. it was still a Rat.

I endorse what revolutionary changes Kapil Sibal is doing in the Indian Education System from introducing CCE to having a Single Common Science Entrance test for admission to Engineering/ Medical Colleges.

From my point of view CCE is the not good at all! I am in 9th standard and i used to top but i now i can’t study because i am writing somthing rubbish on coloured sheets or u can say i am busy in making projects…. I have won many competions(e.g. Science model making comp. – zonal, central, state, national, CBSE regional, NATIONAL SCIENCÊ CONG, my model was displayed at Trade fair to Ms. Shiela dixit) but a child who is speaking a poem in teacher’s ears is getting more marks then me. I have to go to comptetion so i submit notebooks late and because of that i got C1 so i don’t think it is good…. I used to be a great footballer but now i don’t have time to go out and walk in fresh air… Thanks a lot Mr. Kapil sibal

PANKAJ SHARMA : YOU ARE TOTALLY RIGHT I STRONGLY SUPPORT YOU. THIS SYSTEM HAS
TAKEN OUR SPORT ACTIVITIES AWAYAND HAS TOTALLY PRISONED US TO OUR HOUSES DOING ALL THE RUBBISH WORK INSTEAD OF LEARNING AND GETTING EDUCATED PROPERLY .

I agree cce is like a burden we can’t even to talk freely in the class thinking if the teacher see’s then there will be a bad impression and marks will be deducted. An average students also gets good marks because of other criterias and what about the children who work hard to score gud marks in the exam.!! 😐
