CBSE aspires DU to be easy-going on the UG Aspirants; DU adamant !

UG Aspirants Low! CBSE candidates face the Music!

CBSE wanted DU to be moderate with its under graduate candidates; CBSE is doing away with Moderation. But Delhi University is also sticking to its guns. It refuses to give any “special” treatment to undergraduate aspirants coming from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

All 32 schools education boards in the country that attended a meeting called by the Union HRD ministry on April 24 have also agreed not to spike marks. Although DU’s admission committee has set up a sub-committee of four college principals to look into CBSE’s request.

Generally the average marks in this year’s class 12 results of Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE are likely to dip by 10 %. Another bright review has been that marks both aggregate and subject-wise, will drop. The average drop could be from 6% to 10%, depending on the marks scored in each subject.

It’s a well known actuality CBSE as well as the state boards have been inflating marks in the past. For instance, In2016, the pass percentage for CBSE had touched an all-time high of 83.05% and over 80,000 students scored 90% and above.

The online applications for the merit-based UG programmes will start from May 22 and the same for the entrance-based programmes from May 31.
