The CBSE, in a public notice has announced a limited window of time during which any student, who appeared in the JEE (Main) examination 2014 may utilize to alter or modify their personal details in their application forms.
Interested students may avail of this opportunity between June 12 and June 27, 2014 by logging in to the website www.jeemain.nic.in. Students may alter their category, State code of eligibility and date of birth as previously entered in the application form by logging in to the website during the above stated period. The CBSE however calls for extreme caution to be exercised while doing so as this will be the last chance for any required corrections and no further requests for correcting State code of eligibility or category will be entertained in the future.
The JEE entrance examination, held by the CBSE caters to admissions in technical undergraduate courses such as B.Tech, B.Arch, B.E and B.Planning under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The JEE came into being in 2012 when the CBSE decided to combine the AIEEE and IIT-JEE. The examination itself consists of two parts, JEE (Mains) and JEE (Advanced) with students qualifying for the JEE (Mains) having the option to take the JEE (Advanced) which caters to admissions to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT’s) and the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad.
Students who do qualify for the JEE (Mains) but do not meet the minimum eligibility requirements to appear in the JEE (Advanced) are eligible for admission into IIITs Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT’s), National Institutes of Technology (NIT’s), Central Funded Technical Institute (CFTI’s), among others.
