CAT 2017 Exam Admit Cards out on the official portal

CAT 2017 Admit Cards are released today at the official website
Candidates can download the CAT 2017 Admit Cards from October 25 to November 26. Mock Test for CAT 2017 will be available in the last week of October 2017.
It may also be noted that candidates who indicate their interest for IIM Indore PGP while applying for CAT 2017 will be considered for PGP (both Indore & Mumbai campus) of IIM Indore. Final selection will be as per the admission procedure for the respective programme.
The CAT 2017 will be conducted in 140 cities across the country; the candidates can choose 4 test cities in order of preference.
The duration of the CAT 2017 Exam is 180 minutes.
The IIMs will also release a tutorial to understand the format of the test on October 18. Candidates must work on the tutorials available on the website well in advance.


  • The exam will be held two sessions. Two different test forms shall be given in two test sessions.
  • The scores shall be based on the process of Normalization that will adjust for location and scale differences of score distributions across different forms.
  • Later on, the scores shall be further normalized across different sections.
  • Admission to the IIMs is followed by Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI).
  • The candidates’ previous academic scores, work experiences may be taken into consideration for short-listing.


Steps to download CAT 2017 Admit Card


  1. Visit the official site www.iimcat.ac.in.
  2. Search for and click the Existing User tab to log in
  3. Provide your User ID and Password and click Enter
  4. Admit Card would be displayed on the screen
  5. Take a printout

If the candidates cannot download Admit Card or finds discrepancies in the same, they must immediately to get in touch with the CAT Help Desk (Help Desk Number: 1-800-266-3549).
There will be Separate Notifications from various IIMs
The Applicants taking up the exam for the first time can go through the registration guide and video which is available on the official site. Keep in mind that the graduates must have at least 50% marks to be eligible to apply for CAT 2017 and 45% for the graduates under reserved categories. There will be separate notifications from IIM Ahmedabad, PGPEM & PGPPM Programmes of IIM Bangalore, EPGP of IIM Indore, and EFPM & EPGPM of IIM Kashipur, PGP-ABM & PGP-SM of IIM Lucknow, PGPWE of IIM Raipur, PGDHRM of IIM Ranchi, EPGP of IIM Rohtak, PGPEX of RGIIM Shillong and PGPBM of IIM Tiruchirappalli for their management courses such as PGP-FABM & ePGP.
