The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on Wednesday announced the schedule for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for the academic session 2015-16. CMAT is a pan-India mba entrance exam that serves as the gateway to two-year postgraduate management programs.
Candidates will be allowed two opportunities to appear in the exam – once in September, 2014 and the then on February, 2015. Students will be granted admission based on the better of their two scores.
Registration for the first test will commence on July 3, 2014 and the last date of registration is August 25, 2014. Students can access their hall tickets from September 12 onwards. The test will be conducted online from September 25 to 29. Test timings have been determined at 09:30 am to 12:30 pm and 02:30 pm to 05:30 pm. Results will be declared on October 30.
Anyone who has completed graduation under the 10+2+3 system can apply for CMAT. In addition, final year graduation students can also apply provided they can produce their results before commencement of the admission process in 2015. Interest candidates can register online at www.aicte-cmat.in from July 3 and continue till August 25. Allotment will be made on a first-come-first-serve basis. However, it will also be subject to the availability of slots in individual cities/centers.
The exam fee for General category candidates is INR 1400, while the same for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD categories stands at INR 700. Payments can be made online using net banking, debit cards and credit cards . Alternatively, candidates can also make their payments by generating a challan online and then depositing the exam fee in any State Bank of India branch.
The detailed merit list of candidates will be provided to respective state governments following declaration of results.
