Age limit and additional attempts raised for UPSC exam. Government has decided to give a liberty of two years and two additional attempts for Civil Service aspirants. This extension will be applicable on the existing attempt. This means, an unreserved or general category candidate, that the existing attempt will be increased from four to six and the age of taking the examination will also go up from 30 to 32 years.

This recent change of two additional attempts for all categories was approved by The Centre. Also, the relaxation on the age will be for valid for Civil Services Examination, 2017.
