CBSE made Aadhaar card mandatory to register for JEE main 2017

The Central Board of Secondary Education has made the Aadhaar card mandatory for JEE main 2017 registration.  Now the applicants will have to enter the details of their Aadhaar card while applying for the JEE main examination.

As per the notification provided on the JEE main official website, the applicants will have to enter their AAADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender at the time of registration. The details filled by the candidates will be validated with the UIDAI’s data. In case the particulars provided by the applicant do not match the UIDAI’s data, he or she will not be able to register for JEE main 2017. Therefore, candidates are advised to ensure that their Aadhar card has correct details as per the school records. If there is any mismatch in the details such as name, gender or date of birth, the candidates should get it corrected immediately.

The registrations for JEE main will start from December 1, 2016 and end on January 2, 2017. The candidates who want to apply for JEE main but do not possess the Aadhar card are advised to apply for the same immediately and those who have the Aadhar card are advised to verify the details with their school records and certificates.

CBSE has also released the tentative dates for the JEE main examination 2017. The detailed notification will be issued by CBSE on December 1 and the registrations will be done till January 2. The JEE main examination will be held on April 2, 2017.

This year 6 new states include Odisha, Gujarat, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana have joined the JEE Main 2017. Therefore the students seeking admissions to engineering programmes in these states will also have to apply for and clear JEE Main 2017.

JEE main is the most popular and toughest engineering entrance test in India. It is conducted by CBSE to shortlist candidates for admission to top engineering colleges like Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad and National Institutes of Technology.
