Eligibility Criteria

  • Citizenship: There is no restriction of nationality
  • Age Limit: There is no upper or lower age limit
  • Candidates must have passed OR appeared (in 2018) in the Higher Secondary Exam(10+2 system) conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or any equivalent examination (refer to the list of Recognized Boards given in Appendix-7)
  • Candidate must pass any of the aforementioned exams, with at least five recognized subjects (full marks not less than 100), including English language
  • Candidates with International ‘A’ level or International Baccalaureate qualifications, must have at least three subjects at the IGCSE level and three subjects at the ‘A’ level, with English in either of the two levels
  • Candidate must secure a minimum aggregate percentage score as per the following table in his/her qualifying exam in 12th standard. For B.Tech (Computer Sc. & Business Systems), BBA (Business Process Mgt.) and B. Com (Business Process Services) total academic gap shall not be more than two years
  • Hence securing a Rank in the JESNU-2018 does not constitute a right/guarantee in favour of a candidate for his/her claim for admission who ultimately fails to comply the specified norms and standards.

Syllabus of Exam

  • The tests will be based on the 10th and12th standard syllabi of various recognised boards/councils
  • Schedule of JESNU-2018 – 17th June (Sunday), 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
  • No further Exam shall be held under any circumstances for those who will be unable to appear on the above scheduled date and time

Pattern of Question Papers

  • The paper will have 7 (seven) different modules, namely
  1. Basic English
  2. Basic Mathematics
  3. General knowledge/awareness
  4. Social Science
  5. Logical reasoning
  6. Physical Science
  7. Life Science
  • A candidate has to answer any 5 (five) modules. If a candidate attempts more than five modules then his/her score in the best five modules will be considered for ranking
  • The question paper will be in English only
  • All questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type, with four options against each of the questions. Each module will have 10 questions of 2 marks each. A candidate needs to attempt any five modules. Total marks for the examination will be 100 and time allotted will be 90 minutes

Scoring Methodology

  • All questions will have four answer options
  • Only one option is correct.
  • Correct response will yield 2 (two) mark.
  • Incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks.
  • For any combination of response with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks
  • No response will yield zero mark

Admit Card

  • Admit cards will be generated on the notified date for the student to download and take a print. Candidate has to carry a printed hard copy of the admit card to the exam centre
  • Candidates must ensure that the admit card is not mutilated/ distorted/ soiled even by accident. Candidates with such mutilated/ distorted/ soiled admit cards will not be allowed to appear in the exam

  • During on line application, the candidate has to choose any 2 (two) of the following examzones according to preference

    • Candidates are required to go through the Information Bulletin carefully before attempting for online application
    • Once an application is received, it will be construed that the candidate agrees to all terms and conditions, rules and regulations stipulated in the Information Bulletin and notices published by the Board for the said purpose
    • The Information Bulletin for JESNU-2018 has been prepared following the guidelines of Sister Nivedita University (SNU). The candidates are requested to follow the SNU website www.snuniv.ac.in on regular basis for other information

Application Fee

  • The amount of application fees to be paid for appearing in the JESNU-2018 is Rs.7500/- (Rupees five hundred only) plus the Bank’s Service Charges as applicable
  • The Examination Fees can be paid by ‘Net Banking’/ ‘Debit Card’/ ‘Credit Card’
