The Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER – State Council), Pune is a statutory body which has been constituted under Section 12 of the Maharashtra Agricultural Universities (Krishi Vidyapeeths) Act, 1983.

MCAER to conduct the Common Entrance Test (CET) through the Maharashtra Agricultural Universities Examination Board (MAUEB), Pune for admission to various Doctoral Programmes in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) in Maharashtra

MCAER CET PhD Admission 2018 Important Dates

  • Last date of receiving online applications 30th May 2018
  • Last date of payment of fees online/ through cash: 31st May 2018
  • Date of Provisional Merit list of eligible/Non-eligible candidates: 05th June 2018
  • Date of Grievances for students: 06th June 2018 to 10th June 2018
  • Date of Final Merit list of eligible/ Non-eligible candidates: 11th June 2018
  • Date of online Admit cards: 25th July 2018
  • Examination All disciplines:  05th August 2018 10.00 to 12.00
  • Display of answer keys: 11th August 2018

  • Agronomy – 3 years (6 semesters): Master’s degree in Agronomy
  • Agricultural Meteorology – 3 years (6 semesters): Master’s degree in Agricultural Meteorology
  • Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry – 3 years (6 semesters): Master’s degree in Soil Sciences and Agricultural Chemistry/ Soil Science/Agricultural Chemistry/ Land Resource Management
  • Biochemistry – 3 years (6 semesters): Master’s degree in Agricultural Biochemistry

Note:

  • Candidate must fulfil the eligibility conditions as indicated above. The exact eligibility requirement criteria will be known at the time of counselling. The candidates are in general eligible for pursuing doctoral degree in the subject in which they have passed their post graduation with minimum CGPA of 6.5 in 10.0 point scale
  • Conversion formula for 4.00 to 10.00 scale

y = 1.5 + 2 x for x = 2 to 3.5 and

y = 8.5 + 3 {x (-) 3.5} for x = 3.51 to 4.00

where, y = points in 10.00 point scale and

x = points in 4.00 point scale

  • The candidates should note that 4/5/6 years UG degree and 2 year PG degree with thesis work are the essential requirements for admission to doctoral degree program in the Agricultural Universities. The candidate having passed with 3 years UG degree program are not eligible for PhD Admission through CET-2018 (PhD)
  • Ph. D. CET is compulsory for in-service candidate.

 

Scheme of Exam
  • The Exam will be conducted for 200 marks. The question booklet will contain 200 questions of objective nature along with answers in the form of 04 alternatives. There will not be any choice or option for questions, i.e. all questions have to be answered
  • The candidate has to mark the correct answer by blackening the corresponding circle against the serial number of the question in the OMR sheet with black ink ballpoint pen only. Out of four circles provided for selection of an answer against a question, the candidate should fill up only one circle completely
  • Display of Answer Keys:  11th August 2018
  • Declaration of Results (On MCAER Website): 15th August 2018
Syllabus of Exam
  • The syllabus for the CET in each of the stream is as per National core group for PG syllabus which being implemented in all four SAU’s will be for CET examination

Application Form

  • Please note that if you commit any mistake in filling the online Application Form, it cannot be corrected by this office. The Board will have no responsibility of any kind for such forms
  • The incomplete applications and those without required documents will not be considered for exam
  • In such cases, the candidate will not have any right to claim the refund of examination fees. Please keep a photocopy of the printout of the online application form for future correspondence if any

Exam Fees

  • A student will have to pay the examination fees online/ through cash in any local branch of State Bank of India using SBI-i collect link which is available on www.mcaer.org. The examination fees for CET to be paid will be as follows:
    • Students belonging to Open category: Rs.1500/- per CET
    • Students belonging to Reserved category: Rs.750/- per CET
    • Students belonging to Other States: Rs.1500/- per CET
