Rajasthan MBBS/BDS Admission through NEET 2016

Rajasthan MBBS/ BDS Admission 2016 for admission to undergraduate MBBS and BDS Programme for academic session 2016-17 will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the NEET 2016.

Centralized admissions to different Government and Private Medical, Dental colleges in Rajasthan, for the session 2016-17 shall be made in the following courses:

i. Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS): The duration of MBBS course is 4½ years followed by compulsory internship of one year

ii. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS): The course is divided into 4 years of training and 1-year compulsory rotatory internship

The NEET 2016 has been conducted for 85% seats in Govt. Medical/ Dental colleges of Rajasthan and 85% seats in Private Medical/ Dental Colleges who have opted to fill the seats in the respective colleges through Rajasthan State UG Admission (Medical & Dental) Board 2016, as per the rules and regulations laid down by RUHS and Govt. of Rajasthan

The NEET score along with some relevant data has been provided by the NEET 2016 to the Rajasthan State UG Admission (Medical & Dental) Board 2016

Eligibility Criteria for Rajasthan MBBS BDS counselling 2016

No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the MBBS or BDS course until he or she has passed the qualifying examination as under:

MBBS - The Senior Secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination, which is equivalent to 10+2 after a period of 12 years study, the last 2 years of study must comprise of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Biotechnology with English as compulsory subject

BDS - The Senior Secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination, which is equivalent to 10+2 after a period of 12 years study, the last 2 years of study must comprise of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English as compulsory subject

Note: Where the Course content is not as prescribed for 10+2 educational structure of the National Committee, the candidate will have to undergo period of one year Pre-Professional training before admission to Medical Colleges. The Pre-Professional Course may be conducted either at a Medical College or a Science College

A candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology/ Biotechnology at the qualifying exam and in addition must have obtained minimum of 50% and come in the merit list as a result of such competitive entrance exam (NEET-2016)

Age Limit

Minimum 17 years on or before 31st December 2016

Other Eligibility Criteria

The candidate has studied for the last 3 years of qualifying examination continuously as a regular candidate in a recognised institution in Rajasthan and is an Indian National

Natural father/ Mother of the candidate has continuously resided in Rajasthan for period of last 10 years and the candidate has studied for at least 5-years during this period in a recognised educational institution in Rajasthan

Candidate is a son/ daughter of a Judge of Rajasthan High Court subject to the condition that he/ she submits an undertaking/ affidavit stating that such benefit is not being claimed or availed by them in any other State

Selection procedure for Rajasthan MBBS BDS counselling 2016

The selection of students to a Medical College shall be based solely on the merit of the candidate through NEET 2016 except for the candidates belonging to the categories of sub clause 'a' & 'b' of the clause-4 and reservation and priority-cum merit through NEET 2016 for the category of the clause - 4 reservation

To be eligible for the Rajasthan MBBS & BDS Admissions 2016, the candidate must have fulfilled the eligibility criteria as mentioned in clause 3

The eligible passed candidates in the NEET 2016 will be admitted in the order of merit for the general as well as reserved seats excepting the seats belonging to the category of the sub-clause 'd' of clause-4 in which case it would be priority-cum-merit


a) 15% of the seats in Govt. Colleges will be reserved in MBBS/ BDS Course to be filled up on all India basis conducted by DGHS

b) Out of total 24 seats, 4 in each State Medical College of Rajasthan of MBBS Course will be reserved for candidates selected under the Central Govt. pool. The Central Govt. Authority will fill up these seats

Application Procedure for Rajasthan MBBS BDS counselling 2016

Before filling the online registration form, read the information booklet and instructions for filling online registration form etc. very carefully

You should be very careful in filling-up the on-line registration form. If any lapse is detected during the scrutiny, your candidature will be rejected even if you come through the final stage of admission process or even at a later stage

All candidates are required to deposit non-refundable Registration Fee of Rs.2000/- (Rs.1200/- for SC, ST category candidate of Rajasthan state domicile) + E-mitra Service charges (as applicable) at any e-Mitra/CSC Kiosk Center authorized by the Govt. of Rajasthan or using (through Internet Explorer only)

The registration fee is neither refundable, nor transferable and adjustable for any future State UG admissions. Any plea in this matter shall not be entertained
