Distribution of Seats

UT Chandigarh Pool (85%) Chandigarh Administration‘s, provides that 85% seats of the total sanctioned intake of an institution will be filled up from amongst the students who pass their qualifying exam from schools/colleges recognized by the Chandigarh Administration and located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh, as regular students of the said school/college
General Pool (15%) Remaining 15% seats will be filled from amongst students, who passed their qualifying exam from institutions other than those located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh
In both pools 15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC).

Eligibility Criteria for GMCH Chandigarh B.Sc. and Paramedical Courses Admission 2020

B.Sc. Medical Lab Technology
  • A candidate who have passed in 10+2 exam or other equivalent qualifying exam individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who has passed 10+2 vocational course (Medical Laboratory Technology) in their respective elective subjects & English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray)
  • Candidates who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-RAY) degree course:
  • A candidate who have passed in 10+2 exam or other equivalent qualifying exam individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
B.Sc. MT (Anaesthesia * Operation Theatre Techniques)
  • A candidate who have passed in 10+2 exam or other equivalent qualifying exam individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
B. Optom. (4 years Course including 01 year internship)
  • A candidate who have passed in 10+2 exam or other equivalent qualifying exam individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course (4 years including 6 months internship)

  • Minimum 17 years as on 31st December 2020

GMCH Chandigarh B.Sc. and Paramedical Courses Admission 2020 Application Process

  • Candidate has to fill online application form available at GMCH website www.gmch.gov.in
  • Before applying, candidates are advised to go through the admission notice and the instructions carefully, published in the newspapers / prospectus and then fill in the online application form.
  • Before applying for any course, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils all the eligibility norms
  • The candidate should have the requisite educational qualifications from recognized University/Institute. GMCH, Chandigarh can reject the applications of candidates at any stage of the admission process in case the candidate is not fulfilling the requisite criteria.
  • Prospectus is available only as a PDF document on GMCH Website www.gmch.gov.in for viewing/downloading. It is not available in printed form.

Application Fee

a) Rs.2000/- (Other Categories) + Bank charges (if any)
b) Rs.1000/- (SC Category) + Bank charges (if any)
The application fee once paid shall not be refunded.
All candidates have to submit application fee online only at the time of filling the online Part-I of application form. Fee cannot be deposited in any other form such as cheque demand draft etc.

Scheme of Examination

Scheme of examination shall be as under:

  • For 10+2 (Vocational stream) passed candidates & diploma in respective discipline
  • B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) – Anatomy and Physiology 30 questions; Biology & Chemistry 35 questions; Lab Techniques (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Hematology & Histopathology) 35 questions
  • B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray) – Anatomy and Physiology 30 questions; Radiation Physics & Biology 35 questions; Radiographic Techniques 35 question
  • B.Optom. – Biology-Ophthalmic 30 questions; Optics 35 questions; Ophthalmic Techniques 35 questions
The minimum qualifying marks in GCET-2020 for inclusion in the list of successful candidates are as below:
(a) General Category: Not less than 45%
(b) SC Category: Not less than 40%

Selection Procedure

  • The selection will be made on the basis of rank/merit obtained in the GMCH Combined Entrance Test-2020 (GCET-2020) to be conducted by Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh.
  • There are no marks for counseling.
