University of Delhi Admission to MBBS/BDS Courses 2016-17 under DU Quota

University of Delhi invites applications for admission to MBBS/ BDS Courses under 85% DU Quota for the Session 2016-17.  

DU FMSC MBBS/BDS Admission 2016 will be offered on the basis of NEET 2016 which is conducted on All India basis by CBSE. The candidates have to fill a separate application form for DU FMSC apart from AIPMT/ NEET 2016. DU FMSC application process has started from 25th July 2016 interested candidates have to apply on or before 19th August 2016.

Candidates seeking admission in University of Delhi's Faculty of Medical Science (FMSC) must have appeared in NEET 2016

The interested candidates can apply for MBBS and BDS under 85% quota in Faculty of Medical Sciences, Delhi University

Medical Colleges in Delhi offering admission based on NEET

Delhi University offers admission in MBBS Course in three medical colleges and one dental college namely:

i. Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC): Only for Females

ii. Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC)

iii. University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS)

iv. BDS Course at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS)

DU FMSC MBBS/ BDS Admission 2016

a) The University of Delhi does not conduct its own Entrance Exam for admission to MBBS/ BDS Degree Course

b) 85% Seats are reserved for the candidates who have passed their Class 11 and 12 from the schools located in the NCT of Delhi

c) Remaining 15% seats are filled on all India Basis directly by the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) based on NEET 2016  conducted by the CBSE

Duration of the Courses

MBBS Course - Duration is 4½ years, followed by one-year compulsory rotating internship Training

BDS Course - Duration is 4 years, followed by one-year compulsory rotating Internship Training

Medium - Medium of teaching and examination for MBBS / BDS Courses shall be English

Eligibility Criteria for Delhi University MBBS and BDS 2016

For admission to MBBS/BDS Degree Course in Delhi, University candidates must have appeared in NEET 2016. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in NEET 2016 (40% in case of SC/ ST & OBC)

Nationality: Indian Nationals/ Overseas citizens of India are eligible to apply

Medical Fitness: Candidates should be medically fit for the course

Age Limit: Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2016; the candidates completing the age of 17 years on 01st January 2017 of later will not be eligible

Upper Age Limit is 25 years as on 31st December 2016; upper age limit is relaxed by a period of 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC categories

Educational Qualification for Delhi University MBBS and BDS 2016

Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system conducted by the C.B.S.E/ Council of the Indian School Certificate Examination/Jamia Milia Islamia New Delhi are eligible to apply

Candidates who have passed qualifying examination from Patrachar Vidyalaya or National of Open Schooling will not be eligible

Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-Technology and English from the recognised schools conducting regular classes situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi only, will be eligible

Candidate must have studied 11th and 12th classes regularly from a recognised school within the National Capital Territory of Delhi

Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Bio-technology and English separately and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ ST/ OBC category candidates)

How to Apply for Delhi University MBBS and BDS 2016

The Bulletin of Information for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses under 85% Quota for the Session 2016-17 based on the marks/merit of AIPMT/NEET-2016 will be available from 25th July 2016 to 19th August 2016 on all working days between 09.30 AM to 03.00 PM against a Bank Draft/ Banker’s Cheque of Rs.750/- for General/OBC category and Rs.550/- for SC/ST/PWD.

The Bank draft/Banker’s cheque should be in favour of the ‘Registrar, University of Delhi, payable at Delhi the BOI along with application form can be obtained from the office of the Joint Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, 6th Floor, V.P. Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007

The Bulletin of Information alongwith Application Form can also be download from the Faculty Website www.fmsc.ac.in or University of Delhi Website www.du.ac.in and the same may be submitted to the Joint Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, 6th Floor, VPCI Building alongwith required fee given at 3 above on or before 19th August 2016
