Eligibility Criteria for CMC Vellore PG Nursing Admission 2020

For M.Sc. Degree in Nursing

  1. Passed the qualification of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. (Honors) in Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai or any other University accepted as equivalent thereto with minimum of 55% aggregate marks
  2. Minimum one year of experience as on 1st September 2020 in a hospital or in a College or School of Nursing or in Community Health Programme from the date of registration in the State Nursing Council after B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Honors) in Nursing (or) after / prior to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (regular stream)
  3. A certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing

  1. Passed Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary / Intermediate / 10 + 2 / or equivalent examination recognized by the University / 10 + 1 in or before the year 1986
  2. Passed the qualification of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or alternate course
  3. Permanent registration certificate with the State Registration Council for Nursing and Midwifery / alternate course approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of Midwifery in any one of the following areas
  4. O.T. Technique, (b) Ophthalmic Nursing, (c) Leprosy Nursing (d) TB Nursing (e) Psychiatric Nursing (f) Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing (g) Community Health Nursing (h) Cancer Nursing (i) Orthopedic Nursing
  5. A certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer

Post Basic Diploma in Nursing

  1. Passed the qualification of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or alternate course / B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. (Honors) in Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing
  2. Permanent registration certificate from the State Nursing Council for Nursing and Midwifery or alternate course (applicable to male candidates)
  3. Minimum one year of work experience as on 1st September 2020 in any clinical area in the hospital or in the community
  4. A certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer

Fellowship in Nursing

  1. Passed the qualification of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. (Honors) in Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree of The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai or any other University accepted as equivalent there to
  2. Permanent registration certificate from the State Nursing Council for Nursing and Midwifery or alternate course (applicable to male candidates)
  3. Minimum one year of work experience as on 1st September 2020 in any clinical area in the hospital or in the community
  4. A certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer

Selection Process

  1. Candidates who have applied for M.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic Diploma in Nursing /Fellowship in Nursing will appear for Step I Computer Based Test (CBT). The list of candidates shortlisted for Step II of the Selection process (Medical Checkup and Assessment of Knowledge and Skills / Personal Interviews) will be published on the website on 26th May 2020 and also intimated to individuals by Email
  2. Selection of candidates to any particular programme is based on the performance in the Step I and Step II of the selection process
  3. Weightage for selection will be given to candidates in the following areas:
  4. recommended by eligible minority network agencies of the CMC Vellore Association (Annexure I)
  5. served in areas of need (Annexure IV)
  6. All such claims need to be supported by relevant certificates

Hall Ticket

  1. The Hall Ticket will be available at the Christian Medical College Website http://admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in from 04th May 2020 onwards
  2. One Hall Ticket will be generated per candidate even if the candidate is registered for more than one course. The hall ticket can be downloaded and printed by using application number as ID and date of birth as password. The hall ticket needs to be checked for accuracy of its details.
  3. In case of non- availability of the hall ticket one week prior to the date of Step I of the selection process, the candidate must contact the Registrar, College of Nursing, by e-mail or telephone. Kindly mention the application number in all communications. A duplicate hall ticket will be issued or the hall ticket number and address of the examination centre will be intimated

Computer Based Test (CBT)

  1. All candidates are required to undertake a Computer Based Test (multiple choice questions) on 12th May 2020
  2. The examination will be conducted in the following cities - Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kottayam, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagercoil, Puducherry, Salem, Thiruvananthapuram, Vellore & Vijayawada
  3. Candidates are expected to report on the stipulated date, time and place on the hall ticket. No candidate will be permitted to enter the exam hall after 30 minutes of the stipulated exam commencement time
  4. The examination will be conducted in English.

Results

  1. Final Results will be published on the CMC Website http://admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in (refer calendar)
  2. All provisionally selected candidates who wish to accept the seat offered must give the acceptance in writing within the date and time stipulated. On failing to do so, the seat will be offered to the next candidate in the waitlist as per the admission policy

Fee Details

  1. M.Sc. Nursing: Administrative Fee - Rs.750/- ($ 100), Registration Fee - Rs.600/- ($ 100)
  2. PB B.Sc. Nursing: Admin. Fee - Rs.750/- ($ 100), Registration Fee - Rs.500/- ($ 75)
  3. PB Diploma in Nursing: Admin. Fee - Rs.400/- ($ 60), Registration Fee - Rs.350/- ($ 60)
  4. Fellowship in Nursing: Admin. Fee - Rs.750/- ($ 100), Registration Fee - Rs.500/- ($ 75)

  1. The application form for registration with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council (TNNMC) can be downloaded from the website. The duly filled in TNNMC registration application is to be submitted to the Council directly along with the following:
  2. Registration fee of Rs.2,000/- for Nurse and Midwife and Rs. 1,000/- for additional qualification can be paid in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai payable at Chennai Branch
