Amrita School of Medicine, a constituent Unit of the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (a Deemed University established under Section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956) conducts Undergraduate and Post Graduate Courses in Medical, Surgical, Dental, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences in its Health Sciences Campus at Kochi, Kerala, India.

Master in Dental Surgery (MDS) - Duration: 3 years

MDS Specialities: Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics; Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery; Oral Medicine & Radiology; Oral Pathology & Microbiology; Ortho Dontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics; Paedodontics & Preventive Dentistry; Periodontology; Prosthodontics & Crown & Bridge; Public Health Dentistry

Eligibility: (i) Candidates should have BDS degree from a recognized Dental College (ii) Permanent Registration from any of the State Dental Councils after completion (Those who will complete their Internship by 30th April 2016 are also eligible to apply)

MD /MS - Duration: 3 years

MD (Clinical) Courses: Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Venerology & Leprosy; Emergency Medicine*; General Medicine; Geriatrics; Nuclear Medicine; Pediatrics; Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; Psychiatry; Radiodiagnosis; Radiotherapy and; Radio Diagnosis

MD (Non-Clinical) Courses: Anatomy; Biochemistry; Community Medicine; Forensic Medicine; Microbiology; Pathology; Physiology

MS Courses: General Surgery; Ophthalmology; Obstetrics & Gynecology; Orthopedics; Otorhinolaryngology (ENT)

Eligibility: For MD/MS Clinical subjects, only those candidates who have not crossed the age of 30 years as on 31st December 2016 are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th Std./School leaving certificate will be taken as authentic. Age relaxation will be considered for candidates with higher qualification in the concerned subject

For MD/MS Non clinical and PG Diploma courses age limit not be applicable

A candidate, who holds MBBS degree from a recognized Medical College included in the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship

PG Diploma - Duration: 2 years

Specialities in Anesthesiology (D.A); Child Health (DCH); Dermatology Venerology & Leprosy (DDVL); Medical Radio Diagnosis (DMRD); Medical Radiotherapy (DMRT); Obstetrics & Gynecology (DGO); Ophthalmology (DO); Orthopedics (D.Ortho); Otorhinolaryngology (DLO); Diploma in Psychological Medicine (DPM)

Non-Clinical Course: Clinical Pathology (DCP)

Candidates who, after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign medical degree recognized by MCI), if undergoing 12-month compulsory rotating internship/practical training and is likely to complete the same on or before 31st April 2016

However, candidates who secured their MBBS Degree from Foreign University should have passed the Screening Test conducted by the National Board of Examinations or any agency nominated by the Medical Council of India and obtains registration with the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils

Relaxation to age limit can be considered for candidates with higher qualifications in the concerned subjects

M.Sc Nursing - Duration: 2 years

Specialities in Medical Surgical Nursing; Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing; Pediatric Nursing; Psychiatric Nursing

Eligibility: Candiadate should be passing in B.Sc Nursing or B.Sc Hons Nursing or Post Basic BSc Nursing (Recognized by Indian Nursing Council) with not less than 55% marks; should be Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with any State Nursing Council

Minimum one year of experience after basic B.Sc Nursing or prior or after Post Basic B.Sc Nursing (teaching experience also will be counted); experience acquired after registration with Nursing Council only will be counted

Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) - Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks; candidates with qualification in hospital-oriented subjects will have an added advantage for admissions

M.Sc MLT - Duration: 2 years + one year Internship

Specialities in M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology (MSc MLT) - Biochemistry; M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology (M.Sc MLT) - Pathology; M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology (M.Sc MLT) - Microbiology

Eligibility: Candidate should be passing in B.Sc MLT (4-years Regular courses only)

M.Sc Neuro Electro Physiology - Duration: 3 Years + 6 Months Internship

Eligibility: B.Sc with Physics as main or subsidiary with minimum 50 % marks

M.Sc Clinical Research - Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/B.Pharm/B.Sc Allied Health Science/B.Sc Biotechnology/B.Sc Nursing /B.Sc in any Life Science

M.Sc Biostatistics - Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Graduates in Statistics/Mathematics with paper in Statistics

Selection for admissions is based either on Common Entrance Examinations or on Personal Interview (Entrance Exam conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham)

Submission of Online Application Form: Time limit for submission of online application form is stipulated in website www.amrita.edu/healthsciences. In order to avoid last minute rush and consequent delay in getting the Hall Ticket or Interview Call, candidates are advised to submit the online application well it time

Keep a softcopy and printout of the online submission of application for future reference

Scheme of Exam and Allotment of Seats

Selection will be made entirely on the basis on merit in the Entrance Examination and the choice of subject will be allocated on the basis of personal counseling

The entrance test for MD/MS will consist of one paper of 180 minutes duration containing 200 multiple-choice questions covering all the subjects taught at MBBS level

The entrance test for MDS, will consist of one paper of 180 minutes duration containing 200 multiple-choice questions covering all the subjects taught at BDS level

Candidates desirous of being considered in the management quota should indicate their choice in the online application

The entrance test for M.Sc Nursing will consist of one paper of 180 minutes duration containing 200 choice questions covering all the subjects taught at B.Sc Nursing level

Test will be objective type. Each MCQ will consist of a stem and four options, labeled A, B, C & D. Only one of the options is correct and for each correct response, one make will be awarded. There will be no negative marks

Hall Tickets

No candidate will be allowed to enter the Exam Hall without a valid Hall Ticket. Hall Tickets are expected to be uploaded one week prior to the date of Exam

In case any candidate could not download the Hall Ticket for any technical reasons, he/she may contact the Admission Office and collect the Hall Ticket
