Admission Notice for MBA Programme 2016-17
AWES - Invites application from eligible/entitled candidates for admission to two years Regular MBA Programme 2016-17 in following Institutes:

Army Institute of Management Kolkata (AIMK): Established in July 1997, affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology, AICTE approved, the Institute has emerged as one of the brightest B-School in India

Seats: 120 (Army Wards - 80% and General - 20%). Hostel for boys and girls are compulsory. Awarded National and International awards and have excellent placement record; Graduated A++ by Business India

Army Institute of Management and Technology (AIMT), Greater Noida: Established in July 2004, affiliated to Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka, New Delhi and AICTE approved, has world class infrastructure

Seats: 120 (Army Wards - 100%); Excellent hostel for boys and girls available; 80% Faculty with PhD qualification; 100% Result; Good Placement Record; Graded A+ in the University

Educational Qualification

The minimum qualification for admission to MBA programme is 3 years Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from any university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities with 50% marks. Candidates of current batch who would be completing all requirements for the Bachelor's Degree by 30th June of the year of admission may also apply
Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally and will be required to produce evidence to establish their eligibility by 31st August of the year of admission, failing which they will be dropped from the programme

Eligibility for Army Categories:

The admission to the AWES Professional Colleges is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex-Army personnel and war widows of the Army
The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to AWES Professional Colleges

Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases

Eligibility Criteria for Children of ex-Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN/IAF); Children of only those ex-Army Medical officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy/Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for at least 10 years

Age Limit: On 01st July 2016 the candidate should be below 35 years of age i.e. candidates born on or after 02nd July 1981 are eligible

Admission Process

The admission to AIMK through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management
CAT is the first step in the process for seeking admission to AIMK. Based on the performance in CAT, candidates will be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD/ PI) to be conducted by AIMK at Kolkata
Final merit list is drawn up based on the candidate's performance in CAT & GD/PI

Group Discussion / Personal Interview (GD/ PI):

Candidates who qualify in CAT will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at Kolkata on merit basis. Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses and arrange for their own boarding and lodging
The list of shortlisted candidates is usually published in the website (www.aim.ac.in) during 02nd week of February every year
The GD & PI is generally conducted during the 02nd week of March at Kolkata
The exact dates will be published on the website and will be communicated individually through call letters. Candidates are required to check into the Institute's website for dates of GD/ PI and they must not wait for call letters
The candidates will have to produce their CAT admit card for GD/ PI

How to Apply

The attached Application Form is to be filled up properly and submitted to AIMK on or before 31st December 2016 of the year of application. Candidates have to fill up CAT Test Registration Number & Centre Code number allotted by IIMs in the respective boxes given in the application form of AIM. Application Form can also be downloaded and forwarded to this Institute along with a demand draft (in favour of Director AIM, payable at Kolkata) of Rs.800/-for Army category and Rs.900/- for General category (including Rs 50/- as postal charges)
A self-addressed envelope duly affixed postal stamp will have to be sent for obtaining 'Receipt and Application Number'
The result will be displayed on the notice board of AIMK and in the website www.aim.ac.in along with 'Joining Instructions' (JI). 'JI' will be issued to the selected and wait-listed candidates who shall be required to deposit a sum of Rs 10,000/-through Demand Draft, drawn in favour of  'Director AIM' payable at Kolkata
The amount will be adjusted against the first year fees. The second installment of first year fees to be paid at the time of registration once the candidate is admitted, ensuring eligibility
